Around forty wineries sit within half an hour of Charlottesville, plus the breweries and cideries along Route 151. It is a landscape built for a day out — and an awkward one to arrange when somebody has to stay sober to drive.
The Monticello Wine Trail spreads in several directions: the Route 151 corridor under the mountains at Afton, the cluster east toward Keswick, and the vineyards south past Monticello itself. A comfortable day is three or four stops, and the driving between them is a real part of the schedule.
We build the route around what you want to see, hold the day at a flat price, and wait while you are inside. Nobody spends the afternoon watching everyone else enjoy the tastings.
Many wine weekends start at Richmond or Dulles rather than CHO, and end there two days later. We can handle the whole arc: the collection from the airport, the day on the trail, and the run back to the terminal — arranged once, priced once, driven by the same person throughout.
Weddings and celebrations at vineyard venues work the same way. Guests flying in, a vehicle for the day, and a driver who already knows which gravel road leads to which barn.
